Sergeant von Saarland (aka Koda) is a hugely handsome 2.5 year old, XL German Shepherd.
Koda was named after the Disney bear in the movie “Brother Bear.” He responds to his name and knows many commands like “sit,” “stay,” “drop,” “come,” “high five,” “shake,” and “be gentle.” He lived with cats, including rescued foster kittens, and is good with them. On walks around the neighborhood he meets dogs happily and seems eager to interact with them. However, while he is great with most dogs, in his home he prefers more submissive dogs. He’s extremely sweet, loving, and has a consistently happy disposition. He adores playing with stuffed animals and tennis balls, and will throw them around by himself in a really cute way. He likes water, and will happily run through sprinklers or get splashed from a jacuzzi. While he’s more high energy and loves to go for jogs, walks, or hikes, he also will sit with you while you’re watching tv or on your computer. He picks up tricks and commands extremely quickly, and is smart as can be. He knows to sit before he’s allowed to go outside in the backyard and to sit in front of his food dish before eating. He is also absolutely amazing on a a leash and will walk perfectly next to your side without tugging or pulling ahead. Koda is the perfect dog for an active family
